The 70's are coming back

Doesn't Francesca look adorable in this dress?  I know it creeps H out that I name my dolls, but it makes it easier to differentiate.  I LOVE 70's looks right now.  They are totally making a comeback and I love the way this dress turned out. M is a fan of bringing me fabric and telling me to go creative, when she brought this I had to do something 70's inpired but still modern.  I am so happy with the way that it turned out and it was one of the easiest dresses I have ever made.  Thanks M you are so inspiring...and Trusting!

Fun Summer skirt

This is Francesca, I realize she is topless, I didnt want a shirt to take away from the skirt.  I just have to say how much I am in love with this skirt.  When M brought me the fabric and said make me something cute with this I hadnt invisioned it coming out as cute as it did.  I mean of course I would make something cute, but this skirt is so cute on I now have to make myself one. I am in love with it and so nice and cool during these hot Arizona summer months.  But it would also be adorable with leggings in the winter.

I am Terrible at taking Pictures

First things first, I am terrible at taking pictures.  These do the dress no justice, or my sisters body.

This is a dress I did for my older sister for a wedding she went to. It has a strapless sweetheart top with built in bra. The bottom is a bubble skirt and the back has a gold visible zipper. It is so adorable on her, I wish I had a picture of her in it dressed up.

All About ME!

Hello Blogger world. I am Laura Davis and this is my blog dedicated to my obsession...Alterations and Custom Sewing.  This is me and my outfit I made for a sewing contest, sadly I didnt win but I did get an adorable outfit out of it.  I am a stay at home mom of four, two boys two girls. I am married to me high school sweetheart and love of my life, we"ll call him H. I taught myself to sew at the age of eighteen and enlisted the help of my mother, who is a fantastic seamstress, her seams match up perfectly everytime Amazing! After learning/figuring out all we could I took some classes at the local Community College, they were awesome. A hop, skip and 8 years later here I am sewing for a living, or for shoe money.  I am pretty sure H hates my passion at moments but most of the time loves the fact that I sew like 90% of my clothes and 80% of our two girls.

I specialize in the alteration of all things impossible, adorable and fashionable.  I hope you enjoy the blog and all that goes on Behind the Seams.
